war in lebanon 1.jpgLebanon's ruling majority condemned Hezbollah for switching from a "fighter against Israel into a fighter against Lebanon."

"The evidence is the proliferation of gunmen in the streets of the capital, where fierce battles have been fought and peaceful citizens with no capacity to confront fighters are being intimidated," the sources told NOW Lebanon.

On behalf of the March 14 alliance, MP Misbah Al-Ahdab announced that the solution to the crisis in Lebanon is political dialogue. "If the wound deepens, future treatment will be difficult," he added.

Ahdab said talk of a Sunni militia that planned to take over Lebanon was an "illusion."

Reading a statement issued by the pro-government alliance after its meeting in Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea's residence in Maarab, Ahdab noted that Tripoli would not give in to attempts to break the unity of the Lebanese army.

"Prime Minister Fouad Siniora is surrounded in the Grand Serail, as is MP Hariri in Qoreitem," he said. "Balancing out forces in Lebanon does not play to our advantage, as we do not have a militia. But they should know that there is Lebanese and Arab unity against this behavior."
