The violence left at least 65 people killed and 200 wounded.
During the unrest Jumblatt was under siege at his house in Clemencau, Western Beirut the area which was occupied by Hezbollah during the first day of the unrest.
Jumblatt started his tour with a visit to his rival, former cabinet minister Talal Arslan leader of the Lebanese Democratic Party at his mansion in Khalde, south of Beirut.
After the meeting Jumblatt told a joint news conference with Arslan that "we will not benefit from (using) arms."
"Khalde is our home and Mukhtara is home for Emir Talal Arslan," Jumblatt said.
"Together we assert that coexistence (is possible) with our Shiite brethren in the mountains," he added.
Arslan, for his part, thanked Jumblatt for authorizing him to negotiate on his behalf during last week's fighting.
"The mountains will always embrace the resistance," Arslan stressed.
Touring the Shouf
During his tour of the Shouf mountain region, Jumblatt the Druze leader told reporters:
"The best way to defend ourselves is through dialogue and communal living with Kaifoun, Qmatiyeh and Dahiyeh." In reference to Hezbollah strongholds.
Jumblatt continued, "we will enter into dialogue with a big political wound and we won't give up our beliefs."
He added: "Poltical problems cannot be solved through the use of weapons. Only dialogue solves problems."
Jumblatt reminded the reporters about the history of the region.
"Baisour was the gateway to Beirut and the South to liberate them from the Israeli occupier, and what happened here is just a passing phase."
Aley, Baisour, Aytat and Souk el Gharb areas witnessed many battles last week between Hezbollah and the Druze residents of Mt. Lebanon.
Jumblatt confirmed his interest in attending the dialogue talks in Doha, "We are going to dialogue, and our wounds are deep. Remember that we were all part of the liberation, remember that Beirut is wounded but still standing. Beirut is Rafik Hariri, Saad Hariri and the Cedar Revolution."
On Hezbollah arms he said, "Some day, there will not be a disagreement between the movement for independence, building the state and the exclusivity of the arms and making Lebanon a state of resistance. There is no difference between the aim of the resistance and that of a strong and a capable state."
"Jumblatt's appointment of Arslan as the negotiator on behalf of all the Druze was applauded by the Druze community, for uniting the community during a time of common danger," a Druze resident commented during Jumblatt's tour.
