Aridi during a press conference told reporters that "Lebanon will boycott all the meetings of the summit including the preparatory meetings".
Aridi said "this boycott is not directed against the brotherly Syrian people , but against those that blocked the election and set illegal conditions that contradicted with the Arab initiative." In reference to preconditions the Syrian regime and its Lebanese allies tried to force on the ruling majority .
Aridi said only the president of Lebanon should be representing the republic at such a summit. Since the president should be a Christian his presence at the summit amongst all the Arab leaders will mark Lebanon's uniqueness. But unfortunately we don't have a president due to the reason I mentioned earlier and that is why we won't be there.
