Safadi ( pictured) participated in Damascus meeting along with the ministers of oil / energy of Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Syria.
The pipeline will transport Egyptian gas across Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Turkey and from there to European countries.
The ministers talked about the final stages of transporting the Egyptian gas after the pipeline was laid in Jordan, and through to Syria.
The meeting was called for by the Syrian oil minister.
The total length of the pipeline will be 1,200 km once completed, at a cost of US$ 1.2 billion.
After that meeting in Damascus , Safadi met privately with the Syrian Minister of Electricity and discussed the question of energy supply through Syria, especially the issue of the link from the Syrian side that has not yet been implemented. They have both agreed to implement this link from the Syrian side as soon as possible. "
