The SANA news agency reported that the explosion was "not the result of sabotage or terrorist act" but resulted from "the combustion of sensitive, highly explosive material caused by extremely high temperatures."
Witnesses said high temperatures, which reached 122 degrees Fahrenheit ( 50 Deg C), also caused fires in northern Syria starting Wednesday night that might have spread to the military complex.
"There is a heat wave and temperatures reached close to 50 degrees, which caused an ammunition dump to explode," the Syrian official said
Witnesses said the blast took place early in the morning at an infantry school containing stockpiles of ammunition and a
tank range in the Muslemiah area north of the city of Aleppo about 200 miles north of Damascus
Unlike Syria Lebanon is used to news about explosions , but the Lebanese explosions were never caused by high temperature . Syria has been blamed for all the explosions that took place in Lebanon since the 2005 blast that killed former prime minister Rafik Hariri.
