Last Sunday the terrorists drew first blood in North Lebanon, bringing a firestorm upon Tripoli and the Nahr el-Bared refugee camp. Later that night the terrorists shook Lebanon's leading shopping center in the Christian stronghold of Ashrafieh in East Beirut. Less than 24 hours later, an upscale neighborhood the predominantly Sunni area of Verdun in West Beirut was targeted for the first time in decades.

For the third time in four nights, the terrorists struck again on Wednesday night, hitting the town center of Aley, a Druze stronghold in the mountains east of Beirut.

Just as the beaches are returning to their pristine form, as the rooftop bars were re-opening, hotels being booked, and the world famous Beirut nightlife was regaining it's old form - terrorists had to deny the Lebanese the thing that they enjoy most - their love for life.

The terrorists are determined to make Lebanon's coveted summer season even worse than last year's unforgettable Hezbollah-Israeli war.

An al Qaeda military official warned the Lebanese government to stop attacks on the Fatah al-Islam terrorist cell, or else “we will tear out your hearts with traps and surround your places with explosive canisters, and target all your businesses, beginning with tourism and ending with other rotten industries... We warn you for the last time, and after it there will only be rivers of blood.”

With all the problems Lebanon was facing in 2005 - in contrast with last summer's war and today's terrorism plague - the abundant political assassinations were sadly a more stable time for the cursed Lebanese.

The fun-loving spirit of the Lebanese will never be crushed, not by war, not by occupation, and certainly not by a band of sick, cowardly terrorists.
