Rizk told Abu Dhabi satellite TV station “ My only wish is for the international tribunal not to be imposed on us based on Chapter 7 of UN constitution, which means total surrender for Lebanon” .

Rizk praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in mediating a solution for Lebanon crises
and said he has high hopes for a deal following the meeting between Saudi Arabian and Iranian leaders.

Rizk said he hopes the relations between Lebanon and Syria will improve based on mutual respect .

Risk has high hopes for a settlement between all the Lebanese and pointed out the importance of respecting and using our existing democratic institutions for settling our problems. This is in reference to the protests by opposition that led to the violence that destabilized the country.

Rizk again reiterated the importance of making sure that the Tribunal is approved by the Lebanese institutions so that Chapter 7 is not imposed on us. This he said is our best guarantee for our sovereignty , independence and freedom.

Rizk challenged those who oppose the tribunal and said” Read the tribunal carefully and you will find out that it offers Lebanon all the guarantees we need” he added “ In any case the text is not biblical and if you find anything you don’t like we could amend it “
