Most of the casualties are between 18 months to 12 years of age, a blatant sign that the "democracy" of Israel has no value for civilian life, infant or otherwise. The lack of humanity on the part of the Israelis is beyond a question of disproportionate. Murdering innocent civilians aimlessly is criminal behavior at its worst, and has done nothing but strengthen the recently withering power of Hizbullah.

After hitting roads and bridges in the south all day Wednesday, Israel was dramatically expanding its campaign Thursday with their biggest offensive in Lebanon since Israel's 1982 invasion.

The European Union and Russia condemned the Israeli attacks, however as if on cue, President Bush patted Israel on the back, vouching for their right to defend themselves. Condoning the aggression of a state whose Prime Minister bragged about dragging Lebanon back 20 years is more than just unfortunate. Rather than promoting a solution to diffuse the situation, Bush managed to tip many moderates back to the anti-American camp in a generally U.S. friendly country.

After warplanes carved craters in the airport's runways Israel's army chief Brig. Gen. Dan Halutz warned that "nothing is safe" in Lebanon. He specifically said that Beirut would be a target.

While there is no disputing the need for Hizbullah to disarm and disband, and that they unnecessarily instigated the response, the lack of humanity on Israel's part is utterly staggering.

In what will surely draw further escalation, Hizbullah was reported to have just fired rockets on Haifa in Northern Israel. Nine were reportedly injured. What response should we expect from the Israelis next... a nuclear bomb?

The past 48 hours has the wretched stench of a horrendous vicious cycle of violence.
