The above was disclosed in an interview with LBC Television Station on the Arabic program "Kalam El Nas" . He referred to a quote by the slain Prime Minister Rafic Hariri" the best thing in life is to pick your successor while you are still in office ".

As with regards to the appointment of Security Chiefs, Mikati revealed that the subject matter will be discussed during May 17th Government meeting . Either we will agree on a compromise, or will vote on the matter . If either fails we will again postpone the issue, since I am not in favor of any changes in the religious sect of the Security chiefs' positions.

Mikati insisted on sticking to Al-Taif accord, and said: "Al Taif agreement should be fully implemented".

Asked if he will go along with the plan to force president Lahoud to resign after the elections , he said that he will not be a member of the parliament. The parliamentis the only authority that can force the president out of office. He refused to publicly disclose his personal opinion on the issue, but indicated , he would only disclose his opinion privately to the president.
