Hezbollah commander killed in Lebanon, not Syria

Lebanese media reported on Sunday that Hezbollah commander Ali Hussein Bazzi was killed in Syria , but according to a report by An Nahar newspaper published on Tuesday , he was killed by mistake in one of Hezbollah’s training camps in Lebanon with live ammunition .

Bazzi was one of Hezbollah’s most prominent field commanders according to local reports.

Bazzi who hails from from the town of Bint Jbeil of south Lebanon near the borders with Israel was buried on Sunday in Haret Saida.

Hezbollah is reportedly training thousands of Lebanese and Iraqi Shiites to go and fight in Syria.

Thousands of Hezbollah fighters are reportedly helping the forces loyal to Syrian president Bashar al Assad in their fight against the mostly Sunni rebels who are trying to topple the 40 year old dictatorship.

Hundreds of Hezbollah fighters have already been killed in Syria and buried in Lebanon according to activists

    Geez, you’d think these guys would have better quality control. I can tell ya that if I ran a militia it would be run to a much higher standard, and I would be smoking hash all day.

    1. Friendly fire deaths are more common than you would think. How many times in history has a great commander been accidentally killed, quite a lot.

        True enough. Play with fire, get burned. For some, it’s just so much fun pulling a trigger, while yelling AlloooAkbarrrr … as we see quite often …. results in top-of-head wounds of many standing in the cheap-seats sometimes.
        And Leading some men into a battle that they didn’t think was a good idea resulted in strange back-wounds in many armies. 😉 ‘Men-at-War’ IS such fun, after all, isn’t it??
