Lebanon Interior Minister Marwan Charbel told As Safir newspaper in remarks published on Wednesday that he is fully aware that 4 key members of March 14 alliance are being seriously threatened with assassination and MP Khaled Daher is on top of the list, but the lebanese security force cannot protect them.

“4 key March 14 figures are being seriously threatened with assassination, led by ( MP Khaled) Daher and the Lebanese security forces have neither the capabilities nor the experience to protect them.” He was quoted as saying .

Tension in Lebanon escalated following the assassination on October 19 of Lebanese International Security intelligence chief Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan, who was also closely associated with Hariri. Syria and Hezbollah were accused of being behind Hassan’s murder.

Hassan was assassinated a day after he secretly returned from Paris.

The current cabinet in Lebanon is dominated by the Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbollah militant group which is supporting Syrian president Bashar al Assad in his crackdown against the uprising . Over 42,000 have been killed so far since the uprising began on March 15, 2011.

March 14 politicians on the other hand have sided with the Syrian opposition.

      They have no shame!!!
How can a minister (or any employee in any sector) claim openly that he’s incapable of doing his job and remain in place.
What he just said and his continuous presence at the head of the ministry is an insult to all lebanese.
But then again, when lebanese get spit on they say it’s raining…
      so, nothing unusual!

But it’s probably the most truthful statement burped out in a while, all things considered.
Can’t might be translated as won’t; but really, who are the people pretending to run the country so well?

You can if you get rid of the ‘hezboshaitan, but for Charbel it would mean political suicide.
