Obama tells Morsi violence in Egypt ‘unacceptable’

The White House says President Barack Obama has called Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi to express “deep concern” about the deaths and injuries of protesters in Egypt.

A White House statement says the president told Morsi that he and other political leaders in Egypt must make clear to their supporters that violence is unacceptable.

The statement Thursday night said that Obama welcomed Morsi’s call for a dialogue with opposition leaders in Egypt but stressed that such a dialogue should occur without preconditions. The United States also has urged opposition leaders to join in talks without preconditions.

Obama’s call to the Egyptian president came after thousands of Morsi supporters and opponents fought pitched battles outside his Cairo palace that left at least six dead and nearly 700 injured.

  1. OBVIOUSLY AN AMERICAN BACKED AND FUNDED PLOT.  MORSI IS ENTITLED TO EXERCISE HIS 4 YEARS AS PRESIDENT WITHOUT OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE . HE MUST CLEANSE ALL THE REMNANTS OF THE MUBARACK-AMERICAN FUNDED  REGIME.

    1.  Although i generally agree with you on most thing, this i have to disagree with. Morsi is just as much a yank funded/backed puppet as mubarak was. In fact he probably is even better at being a puppet than mubarak because he flew to iran straight away and licked their ass.

      1. After much thought and deliberation, I tend to agree with you. Morsi should not have absolute power as it will corrupt absolutely. Even a caliphate shoud be accountable if he steps out of line. I was hoping he would be working towards the establshment of the much longed for khilafah, but I don’t think he is the person with the right and pure vision for the umma.

Religion has no place in any government and its time for everyone in the Arab world live in peace regarding what religion he or she belong to.
