Israeli tank shells wounded at least 16 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Saturday after an apparent attack on an Israeli army patrol along the Israel-Gaza border, Palestinian medics and local eyewitnesses said.
Several of the Palestinian wounded were thought to be in critical condition, Gaza hospital officials said.

Israeli media reports that 4 Israeli soldiers were wounded, some seriously, in this Palestinian provocation. They provoke and attack – and later run to the UN to file complaints against Israeli defensive action.
Gaza was already totally evacuated in 2005, all the settlers were uprooted, there is not even one single Israeli soldier on Gazan territory – and yet they keep on firing missiles accross the border and sending terrorists to kill Israelis. Had the stayed calm after 2005 Israeli evacuation, there was no need for any blockade- on the contrary, they could return to work and trade with Israel without any problem.
I am a Labour Party voter and I support an independent Palestinian state, but the actions of Palestinian extrimists play directly into the hands of Israeli right wingers.
All of this is pure lip service… From BOTH sides. Solve the problem. Both sides need to live in dignity. Without land and belonging they will be frustrated and they will always find people pushed to the brinks to satiate the agendas of countries like Iran and the current Syrian regime. The state of Israel was built because Jews had no home to belong to. Walk their walk and you will become terrorists as well. solve the problem… Enough talk.
