Sayegh: Lebanese sovereignty violated daily by Syria

Share:

Former Minister Salim Sayegh told LBC TV that Lebanon’s sovereignty is being violated on a daily basis by the Syrian artillery.

His comment comes after March 14 called in a petition to President Michel Suleiman last Tuesday for the deployment of U.N. troops along the northern border with Syria in response to Damascus’ repeated violations of its neighbor’s sovereignty.

The petition, handed by former PM and current Future bloc leader MP Fouad Siniora also called for the expulsion of Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel-Karim Ali.

Its also being violated in the South by IsraeHELL. I don’t see this goose asking for the help of NATO there. Oh that’s right IsraeHELL and NATO are one in the same. Doesn’t matter anyway the south can take care of its self. Something that has been proven time and time again.

    1. He did not ask for NATO to be there, he asked for U.N troops. It’s true that Isreal is violating the Lebanese airspace and borders but there are U.N troops there and there should be U.N troops also on the Syrian borders. Any country, Arab or not, that violates the Lebanese borders is an enemy of Lebanon period. If no U.N troops are deployed, then the Lebanese army should shoot back in response to any Syrian shelling of Lebanese land. They fire back when Israel does, right? Look at Jordan. I’m so proud of them because they don’t care if the country is Arab and brotherly; they shot back when the Syrians fired on their land. The Jordanians have pride in their country and I hope Lebanon will show some pride too.

The only ones that fire back in the south is Hezbollah. You know them don’t you, most idiots call them a terrorist organisation. However I call them the true army of Lebanon. Surely the so called Lebanese army is strong enough to patrol its own borders. The request for the UN or Nato troops (which in my opinion are exactly the same entity) is a step closer to a US/Zionist plan to intervene in Syria’s affairs. This site only ever mentions how Syria has violated Lebanon space, however how about all those mercenaries that have come from other countries which have invaded both Lebanon and Syria. As far as I concerned if Lebanon can’t stop these Free Syrian Terrorist from coming and going as they please through the border, then Syria has every right to chase them back with full force.  Just one question, when was the last time the UN or NATO (call them what you will) gave a shit about IsraeHELL violating Lebanese airspace.

Habibi. There’s an airport in Tripoli … barely used at all. Not even on the ‘International’ list. Keeps drivers working on taxi-rides from Beirut, I guess. 😉
Maybe a bunch of Piper-Cubs doing a patrol each day would be good … but we can’t even afford electricity.

So from what you are saying is that you do not have a problem with israel entering Lebanon to defend itself when the hizbollah and palestinian terrorists go as they please through the border and they have every right to chase them back with full force!

answering 5th again: i would have preferred to see lebanese aircraft flying over our beaches & i care less about syrian bullets in syria. The only thing i care for syria is that muslum botherhood does not reach power because then our beaches will be closed and that is if they leave us alive

      2. i would go so far as saying being proud of jordan….in the 1967 war they sold the arabs out by not invading through the west bank …they made a deal with israel thus sparing israel having to spread its army to that side of the border…had they invaded as well israel would have been finished….in 1991 when iraq invaded kuwait they were the only country to stand with iraq..why? because saddam emptied out all the banks and sent it to jordan….again our memory span as arabs is never long enough….we only see through hate…and when you look at things from that perspective you become blinded….we need to learn to look at things factually so as to not let personal opinions get in the way…fact…israel has conducted over 4000 illegal overflights over lebanon since 2006 and 1701….2 weeks ago they flew sorties over the south and as far as beirut….did you hear about? did this media outlet write about it….did this guy talk about it? ok the syrians are violating our space ask yourself why? are there not foreign and local fighters using our land to attack and go into syria? or do we deny that as well? why is it m14 always want to run to the UN? Are we incapable of securing our own borders? Our army general stated 2 weeks ago that if they were given the politicalk backing they could do their job…..from the start the army should have been deployed on the border to stop anything coming in and out….to at least screen the refugees coming through and have them in a confined area….just like the turks have done……as for jordan its time will come soon…..they have pride do they where a doctor barely earns $500 dollars a month???? they shot back because they were told to….

You can’t compare Israel flying over to take pictures of my naked body on a beach with Syrian bullets, troops, and shells landing on people’s houses in various places.
Should anyone really care about ‘overflights’?? NO.! I don’t … 😉
So they prove they have airplanes every day. Think of what that costs them. 🙂

      1. FYI….Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty are breaches of Lebanese airspace, waters, and borders, that are illegal since they violate Lebanon’s territory and United Nations Security Council Resolution 425 and 1701.[1][2][3]
The most frequent breaches are overflights by Israeli war planes and drones; such violations have occurred since the inception of the Israeli–Lebanese conflict, and have happened continuously and almost daily since the 2006 Lebanon war, being the source of much conflict between Lebanon and Israel.[4] Israeli warplanes sometimes stage mock attacks on Lebanese cities, and emit sonic booms that frighten civilians.[5][6]
In 2007 the Lebanese government complained that Israeli planes had flown into Lebanese airspace 290 times within four months, and that Israeli troops had crossed the border 52 times.[7]
In 2006 French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie stated: “I remind that the violations of the airspace are extremely dangerous, they are dangerous first because they may be felt as hostile by forces of the coalition that could be brought to retaliate in cases of self defense and it would be a very serious incident.”[8] US officials on visit in Israel also demanded that Israel stop the overflights since they undermined the standing of Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.[9]
The Blue Line covers the Lebanese-Israeli border; an extension covers the Lebanese-Golan Heights border.
The UN has continuously protested the repeated Israeli overflights.[10][11] Lebanese officials fear the escalation in overflights heighten tensions and could lead to war.[12][13]
Israel rejects such critisicm, and claim the overflights are necessary.[14][15] In spite of this, a leaked US cable shows that Israel offered to stop such violations.[16]
On land, the Blue Line (Lebanon) is often crossed,[17] as well as incursions into the occupied Shebaa Farms.[18] The 2010 Israel–Lebanon border clash was also performed on the basis of claims of such violations.[19]
At sea, Israeli gunboats have shot into Lebanese territorial waters, and there have been Lebanese claims that Israel is breaching the law of the sea and might lay claim on Lebanese natural resources through the Tamar gas field.[20][21][22][23]
Hezbollah uses such violations as justification for the legimitacy of their continued armed resistance against Israel

wahhabi bournous aka testicular air condition for men; you know sperms die when they are at body temperature which is around 37 degrees hence the scrotum lies outside the body in order for sperms to live; in saoudi arabia temperature is frequently above 40 degrees centigrade hence sperms are not viable; the dishdasheh or bournous aims to refresh the testicles hence ensuring survival of the sperms & better male reproductivity

to be honest with you i thought you were adressing me when i read your comments but then i saw you were talking to 5thdrawer. To be honest with you, even though 5th does not need my defense, and even though i am not particularly a fan of 5th drawer’s political ideas, i believe than 5th is a very decent person with excellent command of english. She (i am sorry if i am wrong but i believe she is a she) speaks in a poetical way and, even though very little exudates from her writing, she still has a message which appears hiding or does not appear at all because, except when it concerns me where she is unsually blunt, she tries to be as soft as possible; maybe this is inspired from her scotch drinking where softness of the drink is a condition sine qua non for the good quality of the spirit. I advised her to switch to irish whisky like jameson, apparently she is allergic to all my ideas and she is still persisting on her scotch. I will conclude by this famous french saying: “Si l’on parle de moi c’est que je suis important; si c’est en bien tant mieux et si c’est en mal eh bien tant pis”
