Iraq To Open All Borders To Syrian Refugees

Share:

AL-WALEED, Iraq- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has told Iraq’s border officials to allow Syrian refugees into the county, a senior border commander said.

“The order came 30 minutes ago,” General Issam Yassim told Reuters at Iraq’s southern Al-Waleed border crossing with Syria, 560 km west of Baghdad.

He said it applied to all Iraqi border crossings with Syria.

Al-Waleed, one of Iraq’s three main border crossings with Syria, is held by Syrian government forces and has been the main crossing point for Iraqis fleeing the violence in Syria, especially from Damascus.

Syrian rebels say they hold the Abu Kamal-Qaim crossing, based on a major trade further north. It was sealed by the Iraqi army fearing a spillover of violence.

Rabia, near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, passed briefly to rebel hands but is now under the command of the Syrian government forces.

There is another crossing in Iraqi Kurdistan, near the Turkish border. Thousands of Iraqis have already returned due to violence in Syria but face sectarian violence at home. At least 89 people died in gun and bomb attacks against mostly Shi’ite Muslim targets on Monday.

How come this site does not report the terror taking place in Iraq daily or weekly where over 100 people were killed today and are those lives not news worthy? Those of you who are championing these jihadiis, better watch what you wish for in Syria, it could come back to bite you in you know where…

Well Slick … they mention 89 dead … but that one’s been going on so long it’s almost boring. Maybe why little gets reported outside the place. In fact, that’s the way Lebanon was sliding into being an unmentionable news item until Syria began causing problems … ‘news’ people like the new and sensational. If it drags on and on with no real changes, everyone throws up their hands and ignores it with an ‘oh well’.
Bring out the dancing girls …. 😉

This has been my argument the whole time. They only show news that suits them and the unfortunate thing is most people believe what they hear. Like the issue in Syria for instance, most of the western owned media is one sided always targeting the government with never a mention of the innocent people being killed by the FSA.

And the Syrian media is also one sided always saying that the FSA is doing all the killings, so what is your point? Everyone will always believe the side they support……

The difference is the western media is mostly second hand information when it comes to Syria, Iran and Hezbollah. But if you look at sites like SANA and Press TV it shows interviews with the actual person or persons making the statement.

    4. greetings slick, the bias  you accuse is true of most news outlets but really is irrelavent,  if we as godly people use our own mind  and truly take an unbiased neutral  stand as a human family  and not participate in this lose lose sport, the bombings in iraq like all others that take place in lebanon syria and bulgaria etc are equaly defective and should not be celebrated as a victory for anyone except those who  wish to  continue to feed at satans kitchen of false hope of eliminating the other sect.
