British PM says Iran, Hezbollah supporting Syria’s crackdown

Share:

British Prime Minister David Cameron says Iran and the Iranian-backed Islamist group Hezbollah are supporting Syria’s violent crackdown on the country’s uprising.

Cameron told lawmakers in the House of Commons today that both were offering backing to Syrian President Bashar Assad. He described Assad as a “wretched tyrant who is killing so many of his own people.”

Thousands have been killed in Syria’s crackdown on the 10-month-old uprising, and Cameron has pledged to press for tougher international sanctions — despite opposition from Russia and China.

He says there is “growing evidence that Iran is providing a huge amount of support” to Syria’s ruling regime.

Cameron is seeking a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning the violence.

    1. Just spoke to friend on a visit from Lebanon,
They can see what is happening in Syria & CONFIRM  that there are Lebanese, Iraqi & Iranian militiamen in Syria. They also are consistent with the areas they are deployed.

Bearded men with southern accents some holding rifles with nasrallah & khomeini stickers on them.. This is typical description of Hezbollah TERRORIST from Syrian Refugees.

Thugs speaking farsi & with destinctive persian & azeri features

Thugs with tattoos of ya Hussein & Sadr on their arms

      People are vey specific
You would not believe it, some had axe marks, yes AXE the thing you chop trees down with! Talking about mass graves and tens of thousands missing!

People are fuming & not at all please by position of Future MPS & Hariri.

Hezb & CO are able to contain Northerners under Hariri leadership but how will they contain them when they tell Hariri to @#$% OFF! or when they tell the government to @#$% OFF!

This guy was an optimist, he was the one that usually reassures us when we hear worrying news from Lebanon!

involvemnt of Hizb/irani soldiers in syria i have no doubts about ever since the uprising started..they were marked by a yellow ribbon of some sort on their riffles/weapons…so your friend’s account is of no suprise…but unfortunately the worst thing happened to the syrian’s pple [AND the lebanese alike] is having a Hizbollah dominated lebanese govt that can do whatever it likes and allows Assad to do anything it likes on lebanese territory without any accountability…

.it is not only heart wrenching but i feel frustrated and angry to read the reaction of the syrian revolutionnaries on the facebook account in reaction to the dead baby’s body among syrian refugees neglected by the lebanese authorities when it needed emergency hospital care….words like traitors killers inhumane etc were made and i just wanted to shout that the lebanese themselves are treated like this when they themselves need emergency care…it has nothing to do with being syrian or zimbabwee-ian for that matter…especially when the govt is run by militia thugs theives of a national body called the resistance…this treatment will be increased …unfortunately they do’t know that and they are not to be blaimed.

the utter ugliness of these thugs is self explinatory when you look at some of the photos they released…some of them are obviously on some drug…or two…

as for Harriri and his supporters in the north of lebanese….they love him a lot and i do not think they blaim him for anything…i think they understand his position before, in taking soft stand against Hizb and Syrian allies in Lebanon because of him not wanting any conflict rather him wanting stability and prosperous future…..i think the reaction to his tweets have helped him in explaning some things and made the pple more aware of what he was thinking….for those that have criticised him from the nroth, their criticism does not go beyong that…they like Harriri and think he is the best for lebanon…considering the other option for lebanon i cannot blaim them….unfortunately there is only two options…

i disagree with ur friend about having Hizbollah contain the pple of the north….they are only silent because the future movement & Co does not want a conflict in the nation and most pple listen to them…..they know where is Hizb in the north and who is with him and so are ready for conflict if the “authority” lets them…

        1. Did not say Hezbollah is containing them, through their commitment to Hariri & his idealism, Hezbollah is able to contain them. Since Hezb only has to deal with Hariri types and not more pragmatic people.

Reality is Hariri has compromised with our most basic rights, he had no right to do this.No denying his hardcore supporters, but some are holding him responsible at least in part for this mess that happened on his watch!

      2. I believe your comments are pure fantasy.  I do not believe your friend has the ability to travel to Syria and involve himself with any foreign fighters that have come in to help Syria fight the merceneries brought in by the West to overthrow the Syrian regime.

  3. It is a good news to hear that Iran, Iraq and Hezbollah representing Lebanon have all joined in to help Syria, and keep it from suffering the fate of Libya.  Perhaps Jordan and Egypt will join them.  These middle eastern countries and Iran need to come together and protect themselves from the West.  The West has no desire to bring democracy or well being to the area.   In the past they have overthrown democracies in the area and have one only one desire and that is to steal the natural wealth of the area.
