US applauds courage, dignity of Syrian people

The United States applauded the courage and dignity of demonstrators in Syria, renewing its frequent condemnations of political violence, which killed another nine people on Friday.

“We condemn and deplore the use of violence against citizens demonstrating in Syria, and applaud the courage and dignity of the Syrian people,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.

“We urge all parties to maintain calm and avoid violence, and call on the Syrian government to respect human rights and to allow for peaceful demonstrations.” Read more AFP

    he should go on national tv and tell president assad if you keep killing civilians the us and the un will stop recognizing as legitimate state you and your governement ; will ask you to step down

      Don’t hold your breath.. he already said viz ave Sec. Clinton, that it’s not gonna happen..The west needs to help these young brave ppl. whom at least, in Syria’s case, i believe you can say , are really fighting for freedom and Democracy and not for a fanatic Islamist agenda, ala ‘Muslim Brotherhood’, take him down, before it gets really ugly, and unfortunately, we all know it will.
