70,000 buried in mass graves in Haiti

An estimated 70,000 bodies have been buried in mass graves in Haiti since the devastating earthquake, the government has announced.

Minister Carol Joseph declared a state of emergency until the end of January and said the country would observe a month-long period of mourning.

It is feared the death toll from the Haitian earthquake could reach 200,000, but aid groups have warned that if more medical supplies do not arrive soon, thousands more will die from their injuries. Telegraph.uk
